New Age, New Hair, Same Me

So I am officially Blonde Blonde!
As a little one I had white hair that turned to a natural blonde but darkened over the years to a dirty blonde. My blonde Barbies were always my favorite even though I showed them all equal love! Whenever I go into the sun my hair lightens naturally but I decided I want to take it a step (or two) further!
[ Before you read this post- my boyfriend Dylan bought me a very nice camera, that vloggers use, for my birthday so that I could start taking videos that correlate with my blog posts! I am very awkward and still learning a lot but made a video for this post to test my camera out. Again I'm very awkward so please forgive me for that! Okay back to the writing! ]

I was wanting a change!
I have always been the person who walks into the hair salon needing to come out with something different. When my hair first started getting darker I initially got highlights which were great but ended with me having a full head of honey colored hair that just didn't suit me. To rid the honey I had to dye my hair very dark twice! Besides those two drastic hair color differences I typically keep my chances simple with layers, length, or, of course, bangs. [Check out my blog post 5 Things to Consider Before Getting Bangs ;} I haven't made a change this big all at once since I chopped my hair off in fourth grade! So when I decided I wanted to do this I made an appointment for a weekend I knew I'd be home and have been counting down the days ever since! I'm SO excited to have new, light. bubbly hair! I think it is just perfect to kick off spring and being 21!
MY BEFORE & AFTER
Carli took my darker hair with just natural streaks of blonde and turned me into a full on blonde! At first she foiled my hair with dye giving me heavy highlights, then on the hair that wasn't foiled put balayage. I loved my only balayage hair I had before but wanted more color all around this time. I definitely suggest balayage if you are considering that. It is more natural looking since it is painted on which looks fine when it grows out. If I'm being honest I actually had to get my hair done twice to be where my hair currently is.

REALITY
Some things don't always come out perfect or how you expected them and hair is hard to predict. My normal hair stylist Sarah did my hair a week before and did the same thing that Carli did to my hair but added toner on top after taking out the foils and washing my hair. Putting toner on your hair is a normal step and lets the colors blend at your roots. I don't know much about the process but I have come to the conclusion that I think the toner just 'covered' a lot of the color and work Sarah had done. It actually turned the color of my balayage to a different color than my balayage normally is. She told me to wash it a few times in hopes it would come out more but it didn't. Sarah was booked busy through May so I said that if anyone could squeeze me in the next weekend I'd be home. Carli does my mom's hair so I was excited to meet her. She chatted with me the whole time and was very sincere which I appreciated. I LOVE the way my hair looks! It's a nice reality check when little things like this don't always go your way or how you planned. I couldn't be more grateful for the women at Fringe for helping me get back in to do my hair!
I keep forgetting my hair is blonde now until I look in the mirror or take a Snapchat! I can't wait to strut it all summer and claim that blondes do have more fun. ;)
xx,
Taylor
