On Saturday, April 6 I officially turned 21 and had my first legal taste of alcohol! Last year for my 20th birthday my mom and I celebrated in Athens with a shopping trip and dinner in Columbus the following day since it was Moms Weekend at school. My birthday fell on Moms Weekend again this year but my mom decided she wanted to share me and my 21st birthday with everyone else so I came home to Cincinnati for the weekend.
Since my birthday was on Saturday I went out Friday evening with my boyfriend and his friends. We went to a few local bars to ring in my birthday at midnight! I had a blast singing karaoke with them. My parents even came and surprised me so that they would be there at midnight!

The next day, aka my birthday, was a slow start. I had planned for breakfast with my family before we left for Louisville but the night before put a bit of a hurt on me. My parents, my sister Isabelle, my friend Riley, my boyfriend Dylan, and I hit the road about a quarter after noon. Once we got there Dylan's room was available but our wasn't so we put our luggage and food in his room then hung in the lobby while everyone arrived. Riley, Dylan, and I went in search of food for me which led us to a sports bar. Riley and Dylan had their first drink of the evening and I enjoyed myself some tasty smoked wings! The nice bartender actually made me a Bloody Mary to try as a birthday treat but I wasn't a fan. :( I'm just too picky for everything! After lunch our room was ready! We decorated it for our 'pre-game' party then all got dressed for the evening. I wore a iridescent sequin dress from Lulu's and my Nike Air Force One Jesters; I was feeling fabulous and comfortable all at the same time!
After our pre-game party and a bit of present opening :) we headed out to Fourth Street Live which was just a block away from our hotel! Fourth Street Live is a section of Fourth Street that is shut down for people to walk through from restaurant to bar, etc. with your alcohol. It was so much fun and everyone seemed to enjoy Fourth Street Live! My fifteen year old sister had fun, my friends and I had fun, and even my 92 year old grandma had fun! We hung in the street for a while then headed to the Pizza Bar for pizza and beer. After that we went to the country bar which was a blast! Before we went to our final stop Riley rode the mechanical bull!! We ended the night at Howl the Moon! This was an interesting place. The music never stopped because they had dual piano players that sang any song you requested. I won't even lie, one of the best parts though was the late night food we got on the walk back to the hotel! I said while we were in the country bar that I was really craving a hot dog. None of the places around us sold hot dogs so I gave up on that idea. Well, as we were headed out of the perimeters of Fourth Street Live there was a man grilling hot dogs! I mean talk about a birthday treat! I was boring and got a regular hot dog with a little mustard on it but Dylan got the Louisville Dog which was a hot dog with pulled pork, melted cheese, and shredded cheese on top! I loved getting to spend my birthday with so many people that I love at a fun, new place for me! If you haven't been to Fourth Street Live definitely make a visit- it's like a mini Nashville in one street!
My dress is on sale for $28 so here is the link to that!
My shoes sadly aren't on sale but here is the link to them!
