A few times a year my sorority hosts date parties for us to dress up and have fun together at. Being in Athens, Ohio there isn't many places around here so we typically rent one of the college bars for a couple hours but I know sororities and fraternities at other schools sometimes go to banquet halls or restaurants. These are very fun where we bring a date whether that be a significant other or just a couple friends and eat food, have some drinks and dance! My favorite date party we had Insomnia Cookies catered which is one of my favorite places on campus!! My sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, is having a date party this month and while trying on my dress options I thought I would share the dresses I have at school for date parties for other women to check out for inspo.
I bought this two piece off of NastyGal about two years ago (2018) and wore it to AGD's Valentine's Date party that year! It was cheap and just what I needed for a night out in college. Since mine is a few years old it isn't available anymore but I am linking one that is similar (just not a halter) from a similar website.
I love this dress it just always seems a bit 'extra' every time I go to wear it. Cincinnati was blessed to have a Dillards Outlet which is an outlet store where Dillards last season pieces go to be sold. I have gotten so many clothing items from the Dillards Outlet for very cheap! It's all 60-80% off and then typically most of the racks have an extra percentage off of that. The most expensive thing I've ever bought from there was a designer midi dress for $13. I can't find a similar dress to this one to link
I LOVE this dress oh my! I bought it at the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale in August 2018. It is a thick jersey material which makes it the most comfortable dress ever!! The hot pink color is fun so between that and the comfortable fabric it truly is the best dress. I haven't worn it yet and am hesitant wearing it to this years Valentine's Day date party because as I said they are in college bars. I don't want someones drink being spilled down my prized possession
This is such a fun dress! I bought it at Forever 21 on Black Friday, well Thanksgiving night but Black Friday sales! It is stretchy and very comfortable. The top piece of the dress fits very well which was what I was worried about with a cheaper dress. This specific dress isn't available on Forever 21's website but I found something similar that is a navy velvet print dress with a keyhole.
I bought this crushed velvet dress from Forever 21 in 2018 before I went to study abroad in Florence, Italy. It is one of my go-to outfits no matter the season! I wear it in winter with a black turtle neck and black tights underneath. In summer I wear it with my black platform espadrilles. I love this dress because it is fun and flowing. This particular dress isn't available from Forever 21 anymore. I found a very similar styled crushed velvet dress on Forever 21, it just doesn't have the front lace up.
Another win for Amazon! I find so many cheap and stylish pieces on Amazon to where I even post my favorite finds each month. I bought this and wore it for Halloween over a long sleeve sheer white top accompanied by some wings and white go-go boots. Yep, I was an angel and it was such a cute outfit all from Amazon! This dress is very tight and slightly sheer so any under garments must be light fabric and neutral colored... besides that very cute. The dress laces up on the back that connects to the straps so that they are adjustable! P.S. the glitter doesn't get all over.
I don't have any black heels with me currently at school so I decided to style this a bit differently in a way I would wear it to a date party in this situation. I bought this dress at a local boutique at school in 2018. Wow 2018 was the year I must've shopped for date party dresses besides this year! Anyways its super fun and the front is adjustable. There isn't a link for this dress but it represents the infamous little black dress that is always a good go-to for date parties!
